The Family Blog, Redux
We're redefining the family-oriented blog scene with real stuff from real people. Our families have lived together and we've lived apart. In cities, the country, and the mountains. We visit when we can, even though it's never enough.
But above all, nothing brings us together like food, whether we're near or far (sad face for Tony Bourdain, an undeniable inspiration). We exercise when we want to - or when Leela wants to walk. We hunt deer, pheasant, grouse, and turkey. We fish for trout and forage in the outdoors - but tofu, Smart Ground, and tempeh are in the fridge, too. Did I mention raising chickens?
Kitchens, grills, and smokers are always in reach, and Leela has made sure that we stay together through fitness, fine herbs, and peanut butter... And homemade treatsies.
So sit back, relax, and maybe try to cook something you find at the "The Hotel Leela."
We hope our amenities include a tasty bite for everyone.
I guess it took a pandemic for us to organize and finally put something together that represents our past and present. We've been cooking and sharing food pictures along with bits and pieces of recipes for years, but never had anything easily accessible by all of us at any given time.
Although food is a foundation here, the bigger picture of our experiences and things we've done together put the puzzle together. And, you may have heard, we are at the beck and call of Leela Storm.
I hope everyone can find something funny or useful during visits to our site. Otherwise we'll be fired.
Hello! I'm the mom of the two badass cooks who you may have met at The Hotel Leela.
Keeping track of our family experiences with photography and journals has been a hobby of mine for many years. The outdoors is my favorite place to be. I enjoy canning, hunting, fishing, and foraging. I'm also content to sit in front of a campfire or on my porch swing just enjoying nature or reading a book, which happens more often nowadays!
Hey there, I'm Heather! AttaGrill was created from my love of cooking and sharing meals with family and friends. Cooking, gardening, canning, hunting, and fishing were an integral part of my life growing up. I've carried on the tradition and enjoy these activities with my family.
Listen, I'm sure y'all find what they say somewhat interesting, but I'm here tell you I'm the best-looking thing you'll see on this site. Those food pics don't mean a thang.
I'm Miss Leela Storm Lewetag, and I run this joint. I'm a Hurricane Harvey rescue that wouldn't be here if wasn't for my awesome mom and dad who found me at Austin Pets Alive. Quay and David changed my life, and now I'm changing theirs. I like to think for the better. They might think differently.
My schedule goes a little something like this:
After a long night of rest, I get up at 6am, awaiting my daily doggy breakfast and dental chew stix. Then I nap for a while. After that, I expect treats and I sunbathe in the back yard. When mom gets home, I get fired up and play with my Fluff n Tuff toys. Not long after, I take a nap before calling it a night.
Don't let them fool you - my schedule is what matters here... It drives our success. Peace out!
