Ingredients

Scale
  • Egg
  • Basil
  • Bacon
Dry Waffle Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 Tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch nutmeg
  • pinch salt
Wet Waffle Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 Tbsp melted butter
  • dash vanilla extract

Instructions

Bacon

  1. Heat your oven to 400º and bake bacon until cooked - typically 20-40 minutes depending on the thickness of the bacon
  2. When done, set bacon on paper towels to drain excess fat
  3. Reserve some fat from the baking sheet for cooking the egg

Waffles

  1. For the waffle, add all ingredients to a bowl and mix until smooth with a whisk or fork
  2. When your waffle unit is ready, brush some melted butter onto the surface and pour in the batter
  3. Cook until finished, typically 10-15 minutes

Egg(s)

  1. Add a tablespoon of the rendered bacon fat along with a knob of butter into a pan
  2. Cook on medium-low heat to your desired doneness
  3. Season with salt and pepper

Plating

  1. Place waffle on plate and brush with melted butter
  2. Pour on some heated syrup
  3. Place egg on the waffle
  4. Toss some bacon on the plate
  5. Add a bit of basil to finish things off
